The Norway – Latvia Business Development Fund has been operating in investment sector since its foundation in early 1995.

The Latvian Development Agency is the founder and sole owner of the Fund. The Fund is capitalized with 1 730 000 lats funded by the Norwegian government and the company “Alcatel Telecom Norway”.

As from the beginning, the Fund has invested in total 1 552 976 lats in 28 various Latvian small and medium size companies.

The Fund, as an investor and a sound partner, has been operating in various industries, for example, food manufacturing, fodder manufacturing, wood processing, metal works, energy, construction, public catering, real estate management, textile, information technology.

Until now the largest volume of a single investment has been 175 000 lats and the smallest 20 000 lats.

The Fund is managed by the Board of Directors that includes representatives from the Ministry of Economy, Latvian Development Agency and Mortgage Bank (Hipoteku Banka).
